SAP Secure Login Client is a desktop component from SAP AG that provides strong authentication and seamless single sign-on (SSO) for SAP applications. It manages Kerberos- and X.509 certificate–based logons, establishes Secure Network Communications (SNC) encryption for SAP GUI connections, and enables SPNEGO-based SSO in supported web browsers for SAP NetWeaver and SAP Fiori applications. The client integrates with Microsoft Active Directory and enterprise public key infrastructures, can obtain short‑lived user certificates from the SAP Secure Login Server, and supports smart cards and other hardware tokens where required. After the user signs in to the operating system, the client runs transparently to reduce password prompts while enforcing centrally defined security policies such as certificate lifetimes and trusted issuers. It works with SAP GUI for Windows, SAP Business Client, and, in supported scenarios, SAP GUI for Java, helping organizations protect on-premises and hybrid SAP landscapes without compromising user experience.
